Getting a CEREC crown is similar to a lab-fabricated crown in that we alter the tooth’s shape to prepare it, then take digital impressions. However, instead of using an outside dental lab, Dr. Schmitt uses CAD/CAM technology to design your crown virtually. She then sends the details to a milling unit in our office that cuts your crown out of a ceramic block while you relax.
After checking the crown and adjusting it for a perfect fit, we place it securely on the tooth. A CEREC appointment takes about two hours, and you will leave our office the same day with your new crown and a beautiful, confident smile.
