Dr. Schmitt spent several years in private practice in Northern Virginia, where she was recognized as one of Northern Virginia’s 40 under 40. She also has a strong passion for community service, volunteering with several organizations, and participating in dental mission trips to places as far away as the Philippines.

Amy
Office Manager
Amy and her family are natives to the Brentwood and Nashville area. She attended Nashville State and Middle Tennessee State University to study Journalism and Fine Art. After school, she moved to Boston and started working as a dental assistant in 1995. She fell in love with the field and worked in clinical for 20 plus years. Wanting to expand her knowledge and support, she has since helped open a dental office and has now found her happy place in office management.
Her goals are to support our patients with the continued relationships that are so important to who we are as a dental provider. She truly values the relationships she is able to build with her patients and loves getting to know them and their families.
Amy has three children that she loves to spend her time with along with Buddy, their cat (named after Elf). She still enjoys her passion for Art; painting, drawing and photography. She also has a green thumb and loves caring for her many plants and she enjoys streaming a great series to unwind to!

Kathy
Registered Dental Assistant
After attending TDA and Vanderbilt University, Kathy started working in the dental field in 1977. She joined Dr. Schmitt’s team in 2019, and her responsibilities include helping the dentist with patient care and treatment.
Kathy has known most of our patients for 30 years and has enjoyed developing trusting relationships with them. The most rewarding part of her job is catching up with patients at each visit and hearing about what’s been happening in their lives.
Married with two daughters and three grandchildren, Kathy loves boating and playing tennis in her free time.

Hannah
Registered Dental Assistant
Hannah has always had a passion for dentistry and had a wonderful hygienist who inspired her to pursue a career in the dental field. She received her assistant training at the Tennessee Professional Training Institute and we are so happy she chose to join our team!
As a chairside assistant, Hannah's role is to help Dr. Schmitt with patients and procedures. There's never a dull moment at our busy dental office, so you'll occasionally see her helping the front desk team. Hannah's favorite part of the job is our patients and how it feels like we're all one big, happy family. She loves that we're such a close-knit team and works hard every day to be a positive and fun presence in the office.
Outside dentistry, Hannah has a very large family, with five brothers and sisters and 16 aunts and uncles! Family is the most important thing to her, and in her free time, she also loves shopping and is a whiz at party planning.

Ashley
Registered Dental Hygienist
Ashley is a true local and attended Remington College for her dental hygienist training. Ashley's responsibilities include regular teeth cleanings, periodontal treatment, taking x-rays, and applying fluoride.
The most rewarding part of the job for Ashley is getting to know patients on a personal level and sharing her knowledge on home care and how they can achieve overall oral health.
Ashely enjoys spending time with her new son Banks, her husband and the rest of her family and friends whenever she can. She also loves eating good food and binge-watching Netflix, if anyone has recommendations!

Mary
Registered Dental Hygienist
Mary attended Washington State University Dental Hygiene School at Pacific University. She knew she wanted to become a dental hygienist in the sixth grade and did a science fair project on how soda affects teeth. The more she learned about the field, the more she fell in love with it.
One of the most rewarding things for Mary is seeing when she has made a difference in someone’s life that positively impacts their health and well-being. She enjoys connecting with patients and building relationships, especially in a practice where some patients have been coming for years—it is a very special thing about working in dentistry.
Outside work, Mary spends a lot of time taking walks and hiking with her dog, Vivian. She loves going out to eat, and since she is new to Nashville, she has had a fun time trying new places; Mary also loves cooking, baking, reading, and gardening.
One of Mary’s unique hobbies is snowshoeing, and a fun fact is that she recently moved cross-country to Nashville with two of her sisters!
